HOW IS THE QUALITY OF CARDBOARD MEASURED?
Cardboard is a material used in many industries to manufacture packaging, boxes and various products. The quality of the board is crucial to ensure the protection of the products transported and to guarantee customer satisfaction.
The quality of cardboard is generally measured using a number of criteria, such as strength, thickness, absorption capacity, rigidity, etc. Noviprofibre offers a range of equipment for checking these different criteria:
- Compressive strength with the S-Test
- The energy required to perforate with the perforation device
- Thickness with the micrometer
- Crush resistance with the BCT compressometer
- Resistance to bursting with the burst tester
- CMT, RCT, CCT, ECT, FCT and PAT tests using the crush tester.
In short, board quality is assessed through a combination of factors such as thickness, burst strength, crush strength, tensile strength and compression test. These criteria ensure that the board meets the specific requirements of the packaging and provides optimum protection for products throughout their supply chain.
